cut the glare

What is Anti-Refective coating?

We all experience glare in some form or another. Reflective surfaces that are smooth and shiny will obstruct our vision and direct reflected light back into our eyes, causing blurriness, and discomfort. With the addition of Anti-Reflection, it will stop the light from reflecting away from your lenses. This is beneficial because more light will reach your eyes, which will help you see clearer.

Is Anti-Reflection worth the extra money?

Anti-glare coating is definitely worth it!  It will enhance your lenses to make them clearer and look better.  Without this extra coating, glare will be increasingly harsher, and will cause eye discomfort.

How much is it to add Anti-Reflection to my lenses?

Standard Anti-Reflection is free with all our lenses.  You can upgrade your lenses with Ultra Anti-Refection for only $65.  Crizal® Alizé® is $95, and Crizal® Prevencia® is $115.

How long does Anti-Reflective coating last?

Anti-Reflective coating will typically last about 2 years with proper care and cleaning.  However, extreme heat and certain chemicals can damage your coating, causing it to peel and craze.  We recommend using warm water, or a proper lens cleaner formulated for AR coatings, and a soft microfiber cloth to dry your lenses.  Do not use paper towels, or tissue paper!

Will Anti-Reflective lenses scratch easily?

AR coating can be generally less scratch resistant than the lens itself.  This is not an issue as long as the lenses are properly cared for.  Always wet the lenses with warm water, then wipe them dry with a microfiber cloth.  Never clean your lenses dry!

Do Anti-Reflective lenses block blue light?

An Anti-Reflective coating is not designed to block blue light from digital devices.  However, Crizal® Prevencia® AR coating will block out harmful Blue Light while still allowing beneficial blue-turquoise light to pass through.
