How does Today's Optician work?
Today’s Optician is a lens replacement service that allows you to use your own frames and purchase new prescription or non-prescription lenses all online from the comfort of your home.
How long does it take to get my glasses?
Once we receive your frames, it usually takes between 7-10 business days to process your order, and ship it back to you. Please select UPS 2nd day shipping for an additional charge for faster service.
Can I find Today's Optician stores?
Today’s Optician services are exclusively online only through our website at this time.
Do you sell contact lenses?
No, unfortunately Today’s Optician only offers lens replacement for eyeglasses at this time.
How much do prescription lenses cost?
Our lenses start at only $75/pair including UV protection, scratch resistance, and Anti-reflective coating.
What happens if my frame doesn't qualify for re-lensing?
If your frame arrives at our lab and is found to be non-qualifying, we will notify you and mail it back to you and refund your purchase in full minus $20 shipping fee.

What happens if my frame is broken during processing?
We take every precaution to ensure your frames arrive safely and are inspected by a Licensed Optician before proceeding. If your frame is broken during processing, we will replace your frame free of charge, or offer you an in-store credit.
What happens if I need to make changes to my order?
How do I enter my prescription?
Before your order is placed, we allow you to upload a copy of your prescription or enter it online.
You can also email it, or include a copy with your frame later.
How do you measure for progressive lenses?
Progressive lenses require a vertical measurement from the bottom edge of the frame to the center of your pupil. This measurement can be read and duplicated off your old lenses. After your order is complete, we will email you information that is needed to complete your order. Visit Measurements/PD for further instructions.
Can I send in frames separately for multiple orders?
Today’s Optician standard process includes sending in all frames for each order at once. If you do order lenses for multiple frames, and you’d like to send them in separately for any reason, you can. The customer is responsible for covering the cost of shipping the additional frames into our lab, as well as the cost of us shipping the additional frames back to the customer. Do you offer Varilux® progressives?
We currently do not have an option for ordering Varilux® progressives on our site. Our HD digital progressives are very comparable in design to many Varilux® progressives on the market today. Also, our HD digital progressives include anti-reflection, UV protection, and scratch resistant coating.
Will you ship me a box for my frame?
Yes, we are able to ship you a box with a free label in it. Please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to use this shipping method. However, it will take longer (3-5 business days) for you to receive your order using this shipping method. Our recommended method is to email you a label after your order is placed to ensure you receive your glasses in 7-10 business days.
Do you sell frames?
Unfortunately we do not sell frames at this time. Our service is exclusive to lens replacement in customer frames only.
Do you ship outside the US?
Unfortunately we only ship within the US at this time.
Do you charge for shipping?
Today’s Optician does not charge for shipping within the US. We will email you a label to ship your frames to us after your order is complete. Please select UPS 2nd day shipping for an additional charge for faster service.
Can I use insurance to pay for my new lenses?
Today’s Optician does not accept insurance as payment for lenses at this time. However, you can download and complete a claim form for reimbursement below. Click here
What if the lenses were made incorrectly?
If for any reason you cannot see out of your new lenses based on the prescription provided to Today’s Optician, we will remake your lenses at no cost(free shipping label included). You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to let us know if anything is wrong. Contact us
Please note…with new doctors prescriptions, there is a 2 week adaptation wearing period recommended by most doctors. In many cases, with minimal prescription changes, vision improves over the 2 week adaptation period.
How can I get my PD?
Most doctors will provide you that information at the time of your exam. Most retailers can print out a receipt of a previous purchase with that information on it. Also, we can duplicate the measurement from your existing lenses. After your order is complete, we will email you information that is needed to complete your order. Can you use the prescription in my existing lenses?
Yes, we can duplicate the prescription in your current glasses, or another pair that can be sent in. Please let us know email@example.com that you want to use the prescription in your lenses.
Can you replace lenses for Oakley®, Maui Jim®, Costa® and Ray Ban® frames?
Unfortunately we are unable to use sunglass frames that require authentic lenses. These particular frames require manufacturers that have their own proprietary lens finishing equipment to process and logo stamp. Over 95% of Oakley® frames cannot be replaced with standard lenses. In some cases, we can replace lenses in certain sunglass Ray Ban® frames that don’t have a high curve “wrap”.
What are my payment options?
We accept all major credit cards including PayPal.
Can you make lenses with prism?
Yes, we can process lenses with prism up to 4 D at no additional charge. If your lenses require prism above 4 D, we will notify you. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
Today’s Optician does not accept insurance for payment at this time. However, you can download and complete a claim form for reimbursement on your prescription lens purchase here.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied within 30 days, we will refund your order. No questions asked.

We will stand behind every product we sell, and if for any reason it is determined that the lenses are defective (does not cover scratches, or normal wear and tear), for example AR coating crazing, peeling, cracking or delamination, we will replace your lenses for no charge.
When you ship your frames to us, we will take every precaution to ensure that it will not be damaged in any way.
If for any reason the frame is damaged during production, we will replace your frame free of charge, or offer you an in-store credit.
